The coracohumeral ligament is the only shoulder ligament that is located superiorly (at the top) running from the coracoid process through the joint capsule and inserting into the humerus at the lesser and greater tuberosities. The coracohumeral ligament helps to support the weight of the arm and provides the strong thickening of the capsule.
