Projecting from the anterior (front) of the shoulder blade is the coracoid process which is a bony prominence which serves as the connection point for the ligaments that connect the scapula and clavicle. In addition, the coracoacromial ligament runs from the coracoid to the acromion, the three structures together forming the coracoacromial arch. Some muscles also attach to the coracoid process.
