Varivax is a chicken pox vaccine which can be used by adults and children > 12 months old. The vaccine contains a weakened form of the chicken pox virus. When it is injected into the human body, it causes the production of antibodies which fight against chicken pox infection. These antibodies remain in the person’s system and reduce the likelihood of infection in the future.
