Psoriatic nail diseaes refers to characteristic nail changes that occur in assoication with psoriasis. Around half of people with psoriasis have fingernail changes associated with the disease, while 35% have toenail changes. The most common nail change is pitting (tiny pits in the nails), while nail plate separation, oil spots (yellow-orange discoloration on the nail), thickened and abnormally shaped nails also occur. These changes are more common in individuals with psoriatic arthritis, of whom 90% are affected.
