Myelopathy refers to a neurological problem affecting the spinal cord. Most often, this is compression of the spinal cord (that is, a “pinched nerve” in the spine). It may happen due to an injury to the spine, or conditions such as degenerative diseases or tumours growing near the spine. Myelopathy can produce a wide range of symptoms, including pain, breathing problems and incontinence.
