Prodrome is the first phase of a migraine headache. Individuals typically experience symptoms of tiredness, mood changes and gastrointestinal disturbances during the prodrome phase, which usually lasts for 7–10 hours and precedes the aura phase of migraine. About 30% of people who experience migraines go through the prodrome phase when a migraine occurs and these individuals typically experience more severe migraines compared to those who do not experience the prodrome.
