What to expect

History

You may never meet your radiologist; your history is usually given to them on the referral letter. These doctors are imaging specialists who interpret complex pictures taken of you. They may perform a procedure on you if requested to. They may ask you some questions regarding your symptoms and illness particularly if there are things that may interfere with image interpretation or performing the procedure.

Examination

The radiologist usually does not physically examine a patient extensively. The image usually serves a dioagnosic purpose and physical examination is performed by the referring doctor rather than the radiologist.
