Dopa-responsive dystonia is a type of dystonia-plus syndrome. Dopa-responsive dystonia, as the name suggests, describes dystonia that exhibits an excellent response to low level levodopa. This syndrome usually onsets early (5–6 years old) and is characterised predominantly by lower limb dystonias that get progressively worse during the day, but improve after sleep.
